As the sun sets on 2023, I find myself reflecting on a year that has been nothing short of miraculous.
It’s been a whirlwind of achievements, challenges, and unforgettable moments. Today, I want to share with you the journey of how I, as the first Black woman to win this title, proudly representing the position of Mrs. Universe and more!
Breaking Barriers and Setting Records
This year has been about shattering ceilings and setting new standards. With over 155 appearances, from media interviews and TV spots to workshops and motivational speeches, each moment was a step towards greater inclusivity and empowerment.
Championing Change
One of my proudest achievements this year has been raising over $400,000 for Dress for Success. This incredible journey took me to London, Chattanooga, Indianapolis, Memphis, and Singapore. Witnessing firsthand the impact of these funds in empowering women was both humbling and inspiring.
A Voice That Reached Thousands
Speaking to live audiences totaling over 70,000 during my reign, I’ve shared my message of resilience, hope, and the power of dreaming big. Each speech, each interaction, was a chance to touch lives and inspire change.
Honors and Recognitions
The proclamations, awards, and recognitions I’ve received this year will always be a reminder of the support and love I’ve experienced. These accolades are not just mine but belong to everyone who believed in me and the values I stand for.
My Legacy
As the first Black Mrs. Universe, my story is now permanently etched in the annals of history. But more than that, it’s a beacon for every woman who dares to dream against all odds.
Looking Forward
As we step into 2024, I carry with me the lessons, the love, and the experiences of this year. The journey doesn’t end here. There are more ceilings to break, more lives to inspire, and more dreams to chase.
